Hobie was founded in 1950 by Hobie Alter and has a proud tradition of respectful interaction with the environment and sustainable living.

Our brand logo is inspired by the turn off sign you might see along The N2 coastal highway in South Africa that has breaks like J-bay and Nahoon Reef along it. Nine times out of ten that sign means good surf. We want you to find yours. Our designs are inspired by spending our formative years in the 90's listening to Nirvana and The Pixies and spending too much time in the mosh pit!
