The Captain's Wife is owned by Rebecca Bray, a marine biologist and artist from Wakefield, Rhode Island. Rebecca is literally "the captain's wife" - her husband captains a commercial fishing vessel. While she awaits his return from the sea, she passes the time creating beautiful, handmade genuine sea glass earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. Rebecca began the art of jewelry-making in 2007, learning the craft from another local artist. Rebecca uses only real sea glass that she collects herself from the many beautiful beaches along the coast of Rhode Island. Rebecca has sold her beautiful pieces at the Wickford Art Festival in recent years.

Hi, I'm Rebecca and I have been designing and creating artisan jewelry for nearly 20 years. I started making jewelry after I completed my studies at Massachusetts College of Art in marine illustration, and while working full time as an illustrator, I began making wire and bead creations for fun as a hobby. Soon I decided to sell a few of my pieces at a local artisan shop and Fuchsia Bloom Studio was born! I currently work at my tiny home-based studio in Providence, Rhode Island and create jewelry which reflects my love of color, nature and my passion for all things vintage.
