After years of ups and downs and frustrations, I was diagnosed with clinical depression in 2011. Getting well has been a full time job. I benefited from therapy, medication and a reduction of stress among other strategies. The most rewarding therapy however, has come from drawing with soft pastel. Recently I've begun branching out to other mediums. I encourage others who are battling depression to include art as a part of their therapy. I live in North Dallas, TX with my husband and a growing collection of pastel sticks, tubes of acrylic paints, papers of various textures and canvases in an array of sizes!
