As a Reiki master teacher and trainer, I started Energy Rising as an energy work business. Energy Rising Bed & Breakfast came to be as an empty nest endeavor, when a friend requested I host his parents when they were visiting the area. A spiritual and educational house, Energy Rising is my home, and much more than just a place to stay. It’s a fun, lovely place to be, full of eye candy for spiritual seekers. What is Energy Rising like? In every room and space at Energy Rising, you’ll feel like you truly belong. Each room has its own distinct vibe and atmosphere. Upstairs, the Woodside & Brookside Bedrooms each have cathedral ceilings, and just off the hallway there’s a bathroom with a clawfoot tub. In warm months, you can enjoy breakfast on the deck when weather allows, or relax and gaze up at a star-filled night, meditate on the rock bench in the authentic zen garden inspired by a trip to Japan, or walk down a few cleared paths through the 4-acre woods (or come by and create your own new paths!). In the winter, curl up with a book by the fireplace, sleep in and hang out at breakfast at the beautiful oak dining room table, or lounge in the cozy living room or a quiet bedroom. Downstairs is a meditation/Reiki space and “Yoga for short-people!” room, ready for your use. I do ask that NO outside shoes are worn indoors please! I have slippers available for guests, or feel free to pack along your slippers or inside-only shoes. Thank you! Both buildings were originally constructed as residences during the town's early settlement. They became connected through ownership at an early date and, with the exception of the years 1924 to 1940, have remained under single ownership throughout their history. The opening of the Inn at Montpelier in 1988 has highlighted the historic connection between two of Montpelier's structures. The Baird family owned the complex of buildings, including the two houses on Main Street, the converted barn and the brick apartment house, until 1985, when Ashtek Properties purchased the properties from the estate of Edith Baird, Alton Baird's second wife. The company, managed by Maureen Russell, kept the buildings as rental properties until the 1988 renovation plan was conceived. With the creation of THE INN AT MONTPELIER, two historic buildings in the Capitol city are now opened to the public. They provide needed hotel space and enrich the community in Montpelier by reminding us of its past.

Our individually decorated guest rooms, named after some of the prettiest villages in Vermont, are all located on the second floor. All rooms offer new luxury linens and mattresses, feather or memory foam bed topper, antique furnishings, free Wi-Fi. All rooms have tall ceilings, ensuite bathrooms and most have fireplaces. A gourmet breakfast is served on fine china each morning for a wonderful start to your day ahead. Beverages and snacks are always available. Our library is stocked with good reads as well as board games.
