Tom Walters of Denver is one of the newest arrivals on the corporate rental scene and talks us through it. “I used to live in a nice apartment a short walk from 14th Street where I used to work. Once my job went, I though the apartment would have to go too. I had savings to keep me going for a while, but needed some income to pay the mortgage and the bills”, said Walters. “My girlfriend suggested renting the place out, but I didn’t want students or kids wrecking the place, so I didn’t go with that. It was a couple of weeks later when I was trawling Craigslist that I saw an apartment for rent for conference visitors at $3,000 per week.”
