It is the oldest frame house in New Albany, Indiana, owned and maintained by the Piankeshaw Chapter of the NSDAR. On the first Sunday in December, please join us for our Christmas Open House and Victorian tea. The house is open at other times by appointment.
In 1916, it was suggested that Piankeshaw Chapter buy the Scribner home from Miss Hattie Scribner to use as a chapter house. This property, the first frame house in New Albany, was built by Joel Scribner, one of the three brothers who founded the city. The chapter purchased the property in 1917 at a price of $1,500. On Flag Day 1928, the mortgage was burned. The Piankeshaw Chapter is devoted to the preservation of this important part of our local history.

Hi my name is Matt Riesterer and I am the owner of Back Alley Creations and was previously co-owner of Matchstick Creations.Basically, if it can be made on a lathe or mill, I can do it. I now make props, do mold making and proto-typing as well and have a vast knowledge of working with plastic, silicone, resins, plaster, concrete, fiberglass, and many other materials. Also, I have several years experience in carpentry and wood working, along with custom painting and airbrushing. Lately, I've been diving into the field of Special FX and Make-Up with my old partner. So if there is something you are looking for, one of my crew or me can make it for you! Please feel free to contact me with any of your questions and inquiries.

Our tradational plaque process starts with a photo or small jepeg file. It is downloaded and a templete is made of the structure. We cut up the photo and match the walls and roof to specially selected barn board. After re-assembling the structure we carefull add the details. We paint the assembled barn, mill or house and mount it on a 4"x19" barn board. It is ready for hanging or shelf display. Our 2012 new product line consists of a tradational plaque but is mounted and framed in a 24"x18" barn wood frame. Art work is added to the background to make an impressive handcrafted plaque. Each plaque is number and signed by the Indiana Artisan. A story is attached to the back of each plaque that adds a special hertiage keepsake. Most plaques take 4 days to make.
