OUR MISSION It is the mission of Jump Start Swimming to prevent drowning and aquatic injuries throughout Orange County and the surrounding areas. Jump Start Swimming will accomplish this mission by teaching water safety skills, educating children and adults, and raising awareness. In May 2016, Jump Start Swimming partnered with with local non-profit, Orange County Riptide Aquatics Club. Under OC Riptide, Jump Start Swimming started a learn-to-swim program at Ocean View High School where private, semi-private, and group lessons are offered. Jump Start Swimming has continued its traveling swim lessons, but under OC Riptide, Jump Start Swimming is able to provide more swimmers with the access to swim lessons.The second area of focus is education. Jump Start Swimming focuses on educating parents about the precautions that should be taken when in or around the water. Jump Start Swimming provides education on water safety skills, drowning prevention, and emergency response. W

WHY US? Sailfish Swim School was founded in 2015 as an alternative to the rigid, inflexible methods of the current swim school mentality. Although we adhere to teaching specific swim skills that must be learned, our lesson programs are flexible and custom-tailored to the needs of the student. There are four differentiating factors here at Sailfish Swim School: 1) We incorporate songs into each lesson to keep the younger students engaged. 2) Each student is granted a certain measure of control over the lesson flow, which allows for flexibility and developmental growth. For example, should they dislike a particular part of the lesson, they may choose to do that part last. 3) Unbinding time constraints on learning each skill during each lesson. For example, some students need more time learning the proper kicking technique, while others may need more time with jumping, or arm stroke. 4) Sailfish Swim School is a traveling swim school. With more and more time constraints on parents, traveling and lesson time just are not available. Bringing the instructors to the student’s homes or suitable pool location allows for comfortable familiarity for the students.
