Mission Statement: “Our goal is to educated new or experienced riders on proper riding and horse care with emphasis on the longevity of the horse.” Philosophy: Summerset's philosophy and focus is to develop a positive learning environment and a sense of team while focusing on the needs of the horse and rider. We want to create an atmosphere of mutual encouragement, respect and communication among our riders. The exchanging of ideas and team building, while incorporating fun, creative lessons and activities,are encouraged. Lessons will concentrate on both horse and rider by means of individualized lessons geared for the horse and rider's appropriate skill level. We want to give the rider a better understanding of horse behavior and their own tendencies and how that affects the biomechanics of both themselves and the horse. This understanding will make them critical thinkers and better riders and as a result benefit their horses.
