Desert Horizon Park offers a wide variety of activities for kids, but today I’ll focus on the playground area. We enjoyed swing sets (there are two) and the sandy playground area holds two structures kids can play on. The first one is for younger kids-appropriate for toddlers with watchful parents. The second one is a larger structure and is for older kids. Both have a few slides, and ladders for climbing.
The park also has other activities, including fitness equipment, baseball diamonds, as well as public bathrooms.
The Phoenix Desert Horizon Police Precinct is located at the entrance to the park, which probably makes this park a little bit safer than others.
If you want to go for a walk or jog, you can go around the parameter of the park. This loop is 1 mile in length and is paved the entire way. In the spring, winter, and fall months this park is a hive of activity, including lots of kids activities like football, soccer, and baseball.
There are a lot of picnic tables as well, so bring your lunch or dinner and stay a while!
Amenities: Baseball field, lighted basketball court, jogging trails, picnic area, two ramadas, grills, playground, restrooms, two lighted softball fields, lighted sand volleyball, drinking fountain, restroom, benches. Fitness Course."
