The cornerstone program of the organization is the Ronald McDonald House, providing a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill and injured children that travel to Springfield, Missouri for medical treatment. RMHC funds and operates two Ronald McDonald Houses. In addition, in 2002 RMHC launched and provides ongoing funding for the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, also known as the "Tooth Truck". This mobile dental clinic for at risk children is jointly operated by RMHC and The Tooth Truck, Inc. RMHC also operates a grantmaking program.
