Founded in 1979 Bean's Café has served the population of Anchorage for over 34 years. Bean's Café History Bean's Cafe was founded in February 1979 by Lynn Ballew and was named after her daughter "Bean". We are a private non-profit, non-sectarian organization that has been providing services to Anchorage's needy citizens for over 30 years. In 2006 we acquired "The Children's Lunchbox" organization, with a mission of providing meals to needy children in the Anchorage area. Bean's Café Services Provided Bean's Café provides services in four major areas: food, shelter, social services and employment services.
