In 2007, 18.6 million persons aged 12 or older were classified with dependence on or abuse of alcohol. This represents 7.5 percent of the population. The number and the percentage have remained similar since 2002 In 2000, the average alcohol-related fatality in the United States cost $3.5 million. The estimated cost per injured survivor was $99,000 A 2008 AAA poll measuring the traffic safety culture of Americans, found that 80% supported requiring drivers who have been convicted of DWI to use equipment that tests them for alcohol, i.e. an ignition interlock device. Also, 88% of the respondents in the poll felt that drunk driving is a serious traffic safety concern

The Mandarin Garden Club is a non-profit organization. The Club welcomes all gardening enthusiasts. Visitors & members are invited to attend monthly programs and attend field trips. You can also tour our demonstration gardens: butterfly, ginger, bromeliad, herb, and native gardens. Our gardens are open to the public from dawn to dusk daily, except when we have rentals and the "Private Party' sign is posted at the driveway entrance. Our grounds are closed during rental events.
