I am a first-generation American and know first-hand the complexities of the immigration process as it applied to my own family upon their emigration from Argentina. I have a Juris Doctorate degree (J.D.) from the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University, and studied law at the Universidad de Guanajuato, Mexico. After graduating, I specialized in regulatory and government law for the City of Philadelphia working on issues of Homeland Security including advocating for immigrant rights and drafting the “access to immigrant services” policy for the Mayor of Philadelphia.
I have lobbied the U.S. Congress on matters of Homeland Security and immigrant rights and was on the cutting edge of the regulatory changes brought about by September 11th. These significant legal changes included the creation of the Department of Homeland Security and the transition from INS to the U.S. Customs and Immigration Service (USCIS), and U.S. Border and Customs Protection (CBP). I received a scholarship from the Department of Homeland Security to study for my Master’s Degree in National Security Studies at the Naval Postgraduate School in California.
Unlike many other attorney’s, I have the unique experience of handling immigration issues from both within and outside of government. I served in Iraq for 5 years during and after the Iraq war as a legal advisor for the U.S. Department of State at the US Embassy, Baghdad Iraq. I assisted many Iraqi citizens in obtaining both non-immigrant, immigrant and special visas to come to the United States. I also served the U.S. Department of State at the US Embassy in Mexico City, Mexico.
I started my own immigration practice because I want to help those in need navigate this difficult process and fight for their rights. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to provide a better life for themselves, their children and family. I have personally experienced the violence of war and political turmoil and believe that everyone should strive for peace and prosperity. I consider myself lucky to have had the benefits of being an American citizen and I want to assist those that share the American dream as well.
I am a well-educated, experienced, aggressive advocate, so if you choose the Law Office of Gabriel Chorno, Esq. to handle your case, you can be assured that you will be provided the best legal service at a reasonable fee. I offer flat rate fees for all of my immigration services.

I have been a lawyer for over 25 years. In that time I have been a municipal attorney and Surrogate's Court Referee. As a municipal attorney I have gained vast experience with issues in developing properties. I specialize in development of waterfront properties and the complex issues unique to the East End of Long Island. I routinely seek permits from NYSDEC and local Boards. We also litigate denial of permits.
I have also advised on estate matters and elder care issues, including defended will contests. Our goal is to resolve matters fairly and to avoid expensive litigation. Nevertheless, we zealously fight for our clients.
Local court defense of DWI and traffic matters.
