Attorney Brandy Koontz is a Davie County native and 2000 graduate of Davie County High School. In 2004, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Elon University. After receiving her undergraduate degree she worked full-time for Davie County Government while attending classes for a Master’s in Public Administration through Appalachian State University. After earning her Master’s in 2007, she worked as Director of Development for Habitat for Humanity in Cabarrus County for three years. As part of her role with Habitat for Humanity she participated in Habitat International’s Habitat on the Hill Capitol Hill lobbying initiative. There she educated and petitioned members of Congress about the needs for affordable housing in the United States and around the globe.
Koontz attended the Charlotte School of Law and earned her Juris Doctor in 2012. While in law school, she worked for at the Law Offices of E. Edward Vogler, Jr., P.A., and interned at the Cabarrus County District Attorney’s Office.
Upon passing the bar in 2013 she joined Vogler at his firm in Mocksville. In addition to successfully negotiating and settling numerous criminal and civil matters before trial, Koontz has acted as co-counsel with Vogler on several complex domestic and civil litigation trials. She has appeared in criminal and civil district court in several counties throughout North Carolina. Her individual trial experience includes zealously representing clients in both criminal and civil matters.
Koontz tirelessly donates her time and expertise to community groups and recently partnered with the Davie County Domestic Violence agency providing Pro Bono legal services to victims of domestic violence. She also is a committee member for Davie County Smart Start’s annual fundraising event and community investment committee with United Way of Davie County.
