From complex divorce and child custody cases, to jury trials in criminal and superior court, the firm spends a lot of their time in the Courtroom arguing cases before judges and juries. The Litigation Department is headed by Matthew S. Branchaud, a Rutland native, who has been practicing before the local courts for years. Matt has argued cases before juries across Southern Vermont for serious felonies and other crimes, and argued contested custody and high asset divorces in front of Family Court Judges for almost a decade. He has represented clients in trials before the Criminal Court, Family Court, Civil Court, and is one of a few attorneys in the area to argue at trial before the Environmental Court.
