London-born Richard Gordon became interested in movies at an early age and, together with his like-minded older brother Alex Gordon, got involved with film societies at school. Detecting greener grass on the other side of the ocean, the Brothers Gordon relocated to the United States in the late 1940s. While Alex ended up in California (where he later helped found American International Pictures), Richard remained in New York and started his own company, Gordon Films, importing and distributing British and other foreign pictures in the U.S. Richard Gordon passed away on Halloween in 2011. His good friend Gary Conner purchased the company in 2011 and continues to operate it under its original moniker to this day.
