Riley, Inc. was established in 1933, due to the lack of employment opportunities during the Great Depression. Charles D. Riley began plumbing and heating services for customers in the Altoona area. Three of his sons continued the service, and the company expanded to nine employees and five service vans. A grandson is now president of the company, with two great-grandsons in service. Today, Riley, Inc. employs a total of 13 Master, Journeyman, and apprentice plumbers with nine service vans and will continue services into a fourth generation.
