At the age of 49, I was determined to make a change in my life. I was getting ready to turn 50 in six months and wanted to fly for my 50th birthday party. I joined the Raytown YMCA and attended a 6 am class three days a week. I was very consistent and determined to get fit. I started looking at being 50 and what would that look like for me being a mother & grandmother at that time. I changed my eating and continued to work diligently. My commitment to fitness became so important in my life. I was FLY for my 50th birthday party and I felt awesome and the compliments boosted my ego. My 6 am instructor encouraged me to get certified and to start teaching classes. I didn’t realize at that time in 2007 that this would be my passion.
