SKILLZ is a revolutionary concept in age-specific child development training that uses martial arts as a tool to teach powerful skills based on neuroscience, child psychology, education, and exercise physiology. At our Patchogue child development center, we use developmentally appropriate techniques and symbolism from various martial arts styles to give kids a headstart on success. By providing a fun and engaging atmosphere in which lessons are taught the way kids learn, we can create strong mentoring relationships that allow us to convey powerful lessons that extend to all areas of each child's life. Kids in our SKILLZ programs learn age-specific skills that focus on four main areas of development: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Social development. We refer to this integrated learning model as the PIES method. Classes are all age-specific: Mini SKILLZ is a mommy & me style class for toddlers 18-36 months and their guardians. Early SKILLZ was designed from the ground up with the needs and abilities of preschoolers 3 to 4 years of age in mind. Basic SKILLZ is perfect for kids ages 5 to 6. Core SKILLZ kids are all between the ages of 7 and 9. Extreme SKILLZ is designed for tweens and teens who are 10 to 14 years old. Elite SKILLZ is a more advanced training program for teens that focuses a bit more on martial arts but which still leverages powerful personal development concepts. STORM Team is a leadership academy for kids 9 and up who are interested in community, sports, or educational leadership activities.

This class includes training in fitness, self-defense, traditional forms and weapons, sparring, goal-setting, and other topics designed to break through the mental, social, physical, and emotional barriers that life puts in the way. ====== SKILLZ Fit ====== The “Fit” in SKILLZ Fit® stands for Functional Interval Training. This is the concept of rotating fitness skills in intervals that are more functional than most fitness programs. This program was designed to provide students with a full-body training regimen targeting eight fitness skills. Two skills are targeted per class, cycling through four unique class formats. This is unlike a typical fitness class, which either runs through the same kind of workout every class or sporadically changes in format at the instructors’ own discretion. 4GK Martial Arts is all about adult training for adult needs.
