THE LAZY F RANCH was begun in 1853 by my great-great-grandfather, who brought his family from Tennessee. It has been in our family for seven generations. My daughter, Sydney, and I started THE LAZY F WORKING GUEST RANCH in 1998. In the beginning, we offered horse rental and horseback riding on our horses to mostly International and some domestic guests. We taught Western horseback riding, roping, shooting, cowboy skills, barrel racing, and trips to local sights. Our motto was Learn to Cowboy at the Lazy F Working Guest Ranch. With the banking and stock market collapse of 2008 and the ensuing economic crisis in Europe, our International and local guest ranch business dwindled. We no longer offer daily "learn to cowboy" activities, just rooms and horses to rent, along with 75 miles of trails for horseback riding. We have two Learn to Cowboy events each year, Spring and Fall Roundups, where guest join our professional cowboys and roundup every cow on the ranch.
