As is the case with many great endeavors, Southern Soap Factory began at a kitchen table. When Amy Thomas made her first batch of soap she was enthralled with both the process and the results. Her husband, Wayne, comes from a long line of entrepreneurs and immediately saw the possibilities for a successful business. Yet they both knew that to build a great company you need a great team. And their first goal was to involve long-time family friends, Ashley and Ariel Lawhon. Within months Southern Soap Factory was off the ground with a growing product line, a designer website (thanks to Anthony and Virgil at Happy Catfish Web Studio!), and a solid customer base.
