Viroqua owners, Dave and Jen Tubbin, are proud to open their nursery at the property formerly known as Read's Creek Nursery! We are currently starting year two, and working very hard to update buildings and get things ready to go, and we invite you to come see us as we grow into a destination nursery. Moving forward at the nursery, it is our plan to rejuvenate it, in the best sense of the word. To assess and inventory the gems that are already rooted here. To clean-up and tidy those things that are showing their age. To remove the dead and diseased. To reclaim space devoured by the invaders. To muscle away some territory from thug-like varieties and bring about some balance. To divide and reassemble whole combinations of plantings that just need an addition here or there to really shine. And then, with re-educated eyes to find the suitable openings for us to plant our part of the story. We won't be a polished gem in the very beginning, but we have already grown so much (see our images on Facebook and Pinterest) but we will be ready to provide you with your planting needs, so come take a look around and see what we are up to! We have a wide variety of trees, shrubs, vines, roses, fruit trees and plants, evergreens, perennials, decorative grasses, and ferns that will be ready to go this spring! Our gift shop is full of unique products, many handmade in America by our sister company, Second Nature by Hand. So here’s to a spring centered around and about rejuvenation!
