MurLarkey Distilled Spirits is a small batch craft-distillery, recognized and certified by the prestigious American Distilling Institute. Every spirit we produce is made with pride from the finest ingredients of the highest quality; handcrafted and distilled to perfection in traditional, small batch, artisan fashion. MurLarkey uses 100% organic grains, all natural ingredients and botanicals in all of our premium spirits. From humble beginnings, the MurLarkey team has painstakingly perfected their Spirits. Starting with a meager 23 gallon copper still and a dream, two cousins along with a small team of friends and professionals, set out to create a legacy. Drawing on each other’s professional backgrounds, experience, heritage and skill sets, the intrepid team navigated the tempest from concept to a Certified Craft Distillery, fully permitted by both the US Government (TTB) and The Commonwealth of Virginia. Our Stillworks are a combination of proven old world design and techniques and a little bit of new world technology. We’ve custom designed our equipment to meet our exacting requirements, while staying true to our roots; it’s all still based on the time tested, proven vessels and processes used by our families for centuries. Our liquors are distilled in a “potstill” with an apple bottom/ gooseneck top whiskey hat. We have the ability to direct the vapors through 4-plate or 16 plate columns depending on the spirit we’re distilling. Fully fitted with dual condensers, dephlegmators and a little bit of modern technology, our system is designed to deliver consistency, repeatability and the very highest quality of spirits.
