Dave Beelman began his career in the meat business in 1974. It was the cooperative venture between Future Farmers of America (FFA) and Skinner''s Market in Fort Madison, Iowa under the prudent eye of Buddy Huffman. After graduating from Fort Madison High School in 1975, he attended Western Iowa Technical School, for meat cutting, in Sioux City. Upon completion, he began a 13 year tenure under Sonny Fraise of Sonny''s Super Market in West Point, Iowa. In May 1989, Dave took an Assistant Meat Manager''s position at a Hy Vee Store in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and in the following year became the Meat Department Manager of the Hy Vee Store in Keokuk, Iowa.
