Colleen B. Gaughan, MD is a general thoracic surgeon in the Philadelphia area and suburbs. Dr. Gaughan graduated from Temple University in 2000 and graduated from her general surgery residency at Temple University in 2005. She went on for further studies in Thoracic and Foregut Surgery at the University of Southern California and Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Miami, completing her training in 2009. She has been in practice since 2009 at Temple University Hospital, providing thoracic surgical services for both the Temple Lung Center and Temple Digestive Disease Center. During her tenure at Temple University, she also fostered realtionships with community hospitals and provided thoracic surgery services at Jeanes Hospital, Holy Redeemer Hospital, and the Philadelphia Campus for Cancer Treatment Centers of America. She enjoys working collaboratively with her colleagues in oncology, pulmonology, and gasgtroenterology. She started multidisciplinary lung cancer screening programs at two of the hospitals she was affiliated with, and a comprehensive program for treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett's esophagus, and esophageal motility disorders at Temple Digestive Disease Center. She is now practicing at Abington Memorial Hospital and will head their comprehensive lung cancer program and participate in a newly developing gasgtrointestinal disease center.
