Scott R. Zeigen, M.D., (the medical director of Richboro Eye Care) is a board certified, Wills Eye Institute affiliated Ophthalmologist (Eye Physician and Surgeon). Unlike Optometrists, Ophthalmologists go to medical school first and do one full year of hospital internship, before even starting a three year ophthalmology residency. Dr. Zeigen did Internal Medicine training FIRST, a year as a clinical general practitioner, and then trained from 1985 to 1988 at Temple University Hospital, where he was the chief residenct during his senior year. Dr. Zeigen is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a a Fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Richboro Eye Care is a small, warm and personable medical practice.
