In 1946, Andover Coils was founded in Lafayette, Indiana. The Company quickly developed the reputation as a leading developer and manufacturer of high voltage coils and transformers. Throughout its history Andover Coils has continued to develop into one of the industry's principal producers of ignition coils for automotive, large industrial engines, motorcycles, aircraft, small stationary engines, magnetic contactors and medical X-ray transformers. In 1956, the company developed proprietary epoxy resin formulations to meet the extreme requirements of advancing high voltage applications. Using this new technology the company produced the original coils for Harley-Davidsons battery fired ignitions. (see website for more)
