This family owned and operated business originally known as Ben Posner & Sons was founded in 1960 in a small warehouse in the District of Columbia. From this modest beginning, rooted in founder Ben Posner’s career in the steel business, the Company began its long period of growth and the establishment in 1975 of its current corporate headquarters. Located in Capitol Heights, Maryland, Posner Industries serves its customers from its 50,000 square foot main warehouse. With Ben’s two sons continuing their father’s dedication to serving businesses large and small, the renamed Posner Industries expanded its focus to include not just steel and fasteners, but also power tools, abrasives and a broad range of contractor supplies. With the additional expertise and partnership of the Schraf family, Posner Industries expanded its operations into the Chantilly, Virgina, area in 1998, opening its first satellite operation and heralding a new era of growth for the company. The Company has since extended its operations to four other full-service branches across the Maryland and Virginia suburbs.
