Sharmen Marshall is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with over eleven years of experience working in the counseling field. Sharmen has worked with clients facing or struggling with substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, PTSD, self-harm, school pressures, relationship issues, divorce, stress management, loss and grief. It is her passion to provide teens, college students, young adults, women and men with the tools, coping skills and resources that they need in order to make a better life for themselves.
Sharmen holds a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Alabama. She has provided mental health services for adolescents and adults for numerous local mental health organizations, including an alternative school, the Alabama Department of Mental Health at Taylor Hardin Secure Medical Facility, two residential substance abuse treatment facilities and a half-way house. Additionally, she served for two years on the Board of Directors for the Alabama School of Alcohol and other Drug Studies.
Sharmen is pleased to announce that she has expanded her hours of operation from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. She is now offering telehealth sessions for clients throughout the state of Alabama who prefer that manner of interaction to in-office sessions during this unprecedented time.
