Not tied down to any one genre, Troy Price is the go-to guitar instructor for beginners and pros alike in Central Massachusetts. With his ability to adjust to each student's individuality and need for the same material to be conveyed in so many different ways, Troy has developed methods to explain just about every essential musical concept effectively. Through thousands of hours of teaching, both in private and group classes/clinics over the past 15 years and more, Troy's methods are finely tuned and effective. He maintains a busy performance and teaching schedule, playing around 50 dates a year and holding around 80 private students a week. He teaches at his home studio in Gardner and at Cushing Academy in Ashburnham. Troy holds a degree in Jazz Guitar from Berklee College of Music and Commercial Music Performance from Lansing Community College. His teaching is based on an in-depth study of advanced concepts and techniques, while making sure his students receive a core knowledge of music theory together with the chops they need for whatever style they are focusing on. Troy is also a specialist in preparing students for college music programs as well as in taking recognized players to the next level in all aspects of their playing. Troy considers himself blessed to be successful in a career he truly loves, and he gets the most enjoyment watching both his past and current students grow into some of the area's most talented musicians.
