I’m Theodore “Ted” Lapekas, and for the past 15 years, I’ve been helping English learners find their voice—literally. My passion lies in accent reduction, a field I’ve specialized in for the past eight years, empowering professionals and students to speak with clarity, confidence, and fluency. My journey began as an adjunct professor of Marketing at the University of Louisville in Panama, where I worked with students from diverse backgrounds. I also taught in government schools, but it wasn’t just grammar and vocabulary that fascinated me—it was the power of communication. I saw firsthand how pronunciation could be the key to unlocking opportunities, and I knew I wanted to help learners refine not just their words, but the way they delivered them. When I moved to Miami, I joined an ESL school and quickly realized that many students weren’t just looking to learn English—they wanted to sound natural, to blend seamlessly into professional and social settings.

I (John Irizar) Have been tutoring mathematics for over 30 years. I was an engineer by trade, but always had a love for mathematics and for teaching. I noticed that there is a need for quality tutoring. I decided to put two of my loves together and launched Learn Tutoring Services in January, 2011. I hire quality tutors who care about the student. I consider every student that comes to Learn as my own, whether I do the tutoring or not. I am constantly monitoring the student and tutors progress through update sheets that the tutor fills out. I also meet with each tutor once per week to discuss students. The students success is our first priority. Thank you, John Irizar
