The mission of the Alexander County Economic Development Corporation is to serve as a focal point for retention and expansion efforts relating to existing industries, and to coordinate the county's efforts in industrial and commercial recruiting. The overriding goal of the Economic Development Corporation is to increase opportunities for Alexander County citizens to secure quality employment in Alexander County as well as increasing the county's tax base, thereby reducing the property tax burden borne by citizens. The Alexander County EDC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which receives financial support from the Alexander County Government.
