Hackensack Troast Athletic Club Mission Statement The Hackensack Troast Athletic Club was founded in 1938. Our Mission is to promote good sportsmanship and build moral character for the youth of Hackensack and its sending districts, with the hope that the teaching of these values will enable young people to become positive, contributing citizens. The Hackensack Troast Athletic Club, through its continuing sponsorship of community based youth sports and Hackensack High School scholarships, and the support of semi-professional baseball team, assists in developing civic pride. Whether winning or losing, teamwork requires determination, while instilling discipline and confidence. These leadership traits are developed through strong community involvement and athletic programs, which are supported by the Hackensack Troast Athletic Club.

At CASA for Children of Bergen County, we recruit, screen and train individuals who become Court Appointed Special Advocates. The Family Court judiciary refer children to Bergen CASA who have been removed from their homes by the Division of Child Protection and Permanency and need our assistance; we then provide an advocate dedicated to one child or sibling group. Within this system, the child will have a social worker, legal representation and others that are involved in their case, but a CASA fills a special role as the only adult specifically assigned to look out for the best interests of the child. Unlike the other people involved in a case, the CASA is the only adult who remains consistently with just that child or sibling group throughout the duration of the case.
