Hempstead rebirth, formerly Curtis Riley Community Development Corporation is a nonprofit faith-based community devel9pment organization formed in June 2000.
It was originally formed to address the housing needs of the Hempstead community and provide affordable homes for low and moderate income families. In 2007, the cope was expanded when the founding executive director, Pastor Riley, realized that economic development was the greater need in the Village of Hempstead.
Our mission is to improve the overall quality of life of low and moderate income individuals and families through community-transforming economy-building strategies.
Our goal is to create jobs and increase income, stimulate private investments, and enhance the physical environment in the Village of Hempstead.

Due to the economic, social and political developments in Zimbabwe, ordinary citizens can hardly make ends meet with an average salary below us$150 per month and when unemployment is above 80%. The most negatively impacted students are those from poor families. ZSRP is set up to establish a scholarship fund to enable them to gain amission to colleges of their choice and to afford tuition and fees. This will be achieved by fundraising from donors of different descriptions. Students will be recruited mainly from Zimbabwe through references and recommendations. ZSRP's Board of Directors will manage the process of college admission, the disbursement of funds and maintenance of records. Criteria for admission into the Program have been spelt out. The Board has started fundraising actvities.
