Journey for Jaycee is an organization started in 2010 after the birth of Jaycee Gille who is diagnosed with a chronic disease called cystic fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis (also known as CF ormucoviscidosis) is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder that affects most critically the lungs, and also the pancreas, liver, and intestine. It is characterized by abnormal transport of chloride and sodium across an epithelium, leading to thick, viscous secretions. About 1 out of every 28 people carry one form of cystic fibrosis. Journey for Jaycee is a non-profit organization devoted to finding a cure for this chronic illness by selling Journey for Jaycee T-shirts and accessories. We also volunteer and participate in many activities across the state that promote the finding of a cure for cystic fibrosis
