Our lessons aren’t only about the Bang, Pop, Wow (although we do have fun with that stuff); they focus on why, what and how does it pertain to the kids and their lives. We make science part of each student’s real and everyday life which allows them to extrapolate the concepts from what we do and apply them to other life learning activities. Students learn that the scientific process applies to all subjects. Formulate a question, take a guess at the answer (hypothesis), experiment to see if it is correct, change your answer if it isn’t, and try again to finally draw a conclusion. Along the way, we discover and experiment with everyday items to reinforce the understanding that science isn’t just in test tubes and beakers, that it is in everything we see and touch on a daily basis. Our goal is to facilitate that understanding for the students to allow them to apply what they’ve experienced into their lives beyond the classroom. Science Matters For Kids™ Children learn by asking “what if” and “why” questions followed by getting physical with their subject matter. Play is the work of children! Science Matters For Kids™ offers children opportunities to engage with big concepts and ideas at a level that makes sense to them. Scientific terms and ideas are shared in real language and never “dumbed down.” When we’re discussing the scientific method and making a hypothesis … we use the word “hypothesis!” We offer enrichment programs to preschools, daycare centers, aftercare centers, community centers, scout groups, homeschooling groups, etc. We can provide a science program designed to fit your needs anywhere you have space and students. Our program is designed for students from preschool through elementary. We can scale up or down depending on the age group and the students’ abilities. Curriculum for aftercare programs are “scaled-up” for that age group, hands-on and educational, yet entertaining and interesting for after a long school day. We offer school groups a way to enrich their current science curriculum with a comprehensive hands-on science program which can be customized to meet their needs: weekly, bi-weekly or monthly lessons for an entire class weekly, bi-weekly or monthly lessons for students who opt in – classes grouped by ability Hands-on science classes Our comprehensive hands-on science classes provide students with the opportunity to discuss, participate, observe and experiment with scientific concepts and materials at their level.
