Cypress ECG Project is a non-profit organization (US based 501C) focused on driving down the cost of ECGs so that testing can be done on higher risk groups of the population. Initial tests have shown that a small percentage of student athletes in high school are at risk and participation in sports tends to cause medical complications that can sometimes be fatal. Early screening with ECGs can detect at-risk students. In Texas, about 50 students die every year from cardiac related problems. Across the US, this number approaches 300. The goal of our project is to find a way to reduce the cost of an exam. Current doctors visits range from $75-$100 per visit.
