Hampton Roads Gazeti, Incorporated (HRG) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit community newspaper which began publication in January 2009. Our mission is to link nonprofit community-service organizations with each other and those they serve, and to empower citizens to take charge of their well-being and that of our environment. HRG currently publishes 10 monthly print issues each year, excluding July and August, and is circulated in the five South Hampton Roads (Southeastern Virginia) cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach. Content includes feature stories and articles about nonprofits, announcements, “Out & About in Service” pictorials, a spiritual-health column, periodic guest commentaries, and articles about natural health. HRG also produces an annual awards ceremony (Exemplar Awards) that recognizes the contributions and services of up to 50 volunteers (nominated by their organizations), and a Natural Health Expo that introduces the public to natural health remedies and services. Gazeti.org is our online platform for communicating with community-service organizations and those they serve, facilitating news of vital interest, highlighting activities and events in our communities, and connecting citizens with local resources.
