Organizations are adopting innovative cybersecurity and privacy safeguards to manage threats and achieve competitive advantages. To do so, they are thinking more broadly about cyber security and privacy as both protectors and enablers for the business, third-party partners and customers. The process of implementing cyber security can be complex and expensive if not properly deployed and monitored. Over 48% of all cyber-attacks are against small business with less than 200 people. 60% of these victims go out of business within six months of the cyber-attack Many times for small business and non-profit organizations, implementing cyber security is to costly. The lack of knowledge and current laws on cyber security are not always understood especially when it comes to financial and medical entities. After serving 22 years in the U.S. Army, I retired and pursued a career in Cyber Security. I earned my Master of Science in Cyber Security Technology from the University of Maryland. I spent a number of years doing contract work as a cyber security analyst for various government agencies.
