I have been involved in photography for the past 30 years. I have made the move from film to digital, shooting only the best Nikon has to offer. I have shot virtually everything a person can think of. I have done weddings, Senior portraits, infants, children, families and engagement photos. To get some truly great pictures, I have had people invite me to family functions to get pictures of their loved ones in a natural environment. I have gotten some of my best pictures this way.
For whatever type of photography we are doing, I insist on having a talk with the subject or their parent to get the expectations and ideas laid out up front. That way there is no misunderstanding and I know what I need to make happen from behind the lense.
For infants and young children, I realize that we are operating on THEIR time, not ours. I usually allocate two hours for those shoots, but if we need more time, I will accomodate.
