Elephánta Preschool is a progressive and holistic school. Similar to a cooperative, we welcome families to participate, to engage, and to share their interests, hobbies, and cultural perspectives with our preschool community. As a progressive school, we draw inspiration from Waldorf, Reggio, and Montessori philosophies: Waldorf for developing the creative and imaginative, Reggio for its analysis and reflection, and Montessori for its mathematical and logical elements. We believe in developing the whole child. Elephánta Preschool emphasizes cultural storytelling. Through stories, children develop strong abstract thinking and language skills. Class sizes are very small (6-8) so that children receive the nurturing attention they need to thrive.
