The Airborne Wind Energy Consortium is a dynamic coalition of international stakeholders coalescing to promote the worldwide development and deployment of Airborne Wind Energy Systems (AWES). The Consortium is comprised of industry firms, academic researchers, other stakeholders and supporters who collaborate to advance the industry. The Consortium plays a crucial role in bringing together key players around the many vital issues affecting the industry. Higher altitude winds contain a vast unexploited energy source with the potential to transform the global renewable energy mix. Airborne Wind Energy Systems will make an essential contribution toward energy security and climate protection by producing abundant clean energy to reduce burning of fossil fuels for production of electricity.
