In the year 1822 the first of Ashley's family to arrive in the New World... well, arrived. This makes Ashley a 6th generation Irish-American. For nearly two centuries the principles of hard work, self-reliance, personal responsibility and humility have been handed down. Cooking and baking, not so much. Growing up, cookies were always made by following the directions on the package. The only holiday meal tradition was Christmas morning pigs-in-a-blanket. Sad, but true.
