Nine Lives- Still Rising by KonvictKitty Designs. A company that has been created specifically for supporting all Beautiful Disasters and Mistaken Manics of the world. I hope you take the time to read this through. This brand was started by myself, Jak Gauntlett, I am also the designer and artist. I was raised in Southern California. As a young girl I only really knew a life of comfortable living, big houses, and private schools. I didn’t realize that I would spend my early grown-up years homeless, in a deprived- uncomfortable lifestyle and prisons. But that’s the beautiful thing about this thing called life. It can literally become whatever you make it to be. So how did I manage to go from Princess to Prisoner? Simply put- With every fall I climbed back up stronger. I am not promoting bad people to be excused for bad behavior. I am promoting the understanding that bad behavior does not damn you to being a bad person. I am not proud of my poor choices nor of my uneducated decisions. I am, however, proud of the growth that I have done and the lessons that I have learned through those misled mistakes. I chose the name KonvictKitty Designs because it symbolizes my path taken to create this design company… after my journey which led me to being labeled a “Convict”, I spelled Convict with a “K” to illustrate that I changed part of my choices, that just because it sounds the same doesn’t mean it is the exact same, and to symbolize the uneducated side to those choices- while still holding responsibility and title for the past that I have. The Kitty is to represent the many fails and restarts it took to make it this far- cats are known to almost always land on their feet and also said to have nine lives. They are historically held as intuitive and spiritually connected, and they are very dependent-independent socially. The Phoenix Concept is the name that umbrellas the entire business and this is to show the idea of falling, burning the negative past and re rising each time stronger and more beautiful. Stay true to who you want to be, not who you are told that you have to be. No matter how dark the night, the sun will still rise, allowing all the dark shadows a chance to transform to bright. The best thing about the past is it was over seconds ago. The best thing about the present is it is forever new and fresh. The best thing about the future is it last forever
