As a high school student in Little Rock, AR during the Central High School desegregation crisis, involving the Little Rock Nine and beyond into the "Lost Year", I felt it was imperative that someone capture and document the second year of the Little Rock crisis. Those of us who lived through that tumultuous time feel as though "The Lost Year" has not been documented. As a result, i set about telling the entire story of the Little Rock desegregation crisis. Two documentaries are offered... The first, "The Giants Wore White Gloves", tells the story of The Women 's Emergency Committee to Open Our Schools...the courageous group of women from Little Rock who fought the Governor and the segregationists and accomplished re-opening our high schools after they had been closed for an entire year.
