Located in the heart of the art historical district, Gaia Contemporary focuses on sculpture, painting, jewelry, photography, art furniture, and Japanese antiquities. Both Sanctuario and nunnery are classic examples of historic Spanish Colonial adobe architecture. Partners Henington Fine Art Gallery and Epazote Restaurant have lovingly renovated the nunnery, and found and preserved an old, old hand-painted wall mural in a room leading to a shaded courtyard where Franciscan nuns once rested and contemplated.
