The Kitchen Theatre Company is Ithaca's year-round professional theater, offering an "Off-Broadway" experience in its beautifully renovated, intimate 99-seat theater. Founded in 1991, the Kitchen is nationally known for producing top-notch regional and world premiere plays and musicals. "Important conversations happen in the Kitchen."

The Melodramatics Theatre Company, Inc. was founded in 2004 by Cornell University students as a community theatre company, open to anyone who shared a love of musical theatre, with the goal of producing high-quality entertaining productions. In 2007, the company was incorporated as a non-profit arts organization in NY state.
The Melodramatics has brought the joy of musical theatre into the lives of thousands, producing such fun-filled shows as Sondheim's Assassins, Into the Woods and Sweeney Todd, Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years and Songs For A New World, as well as Bat Boy, Candide, Cabaret, Little Shop of Horrors, and Bare.
Today, the Melodramatics continues to grow and evolve with an eclectic mix of members from Cornell, Ithaca College and the Ithaca community.
