The Honolulu Symphony Chorus was founded in 1978, and incorporated as the Oahu Choral Society (OCS) in 1995. OCS is the administrative body for the Honolulu Symphony Chorus. Although the Honolulu Symphony ceased performing in 2009, OCS continues to present major choral works, utilizing a full orchestra where possible. Local artists are featured as soloists, and OCS joins with other musicians in the community to deliver choral music suitable for the entire family. OCS has commissioned new works by local composers and staged many concerts with local and visiting musicians. Our 2012/13 season features Orff's Carmina Burana Nov. 3 at the Hawaii Theatre, Christmas with Bach and Mendelssohn Dec. 16 at St. Andrew's Cathedral, and Brahms' Requiem with full orchestra April 6 at Blaisdell Aud.
