Almaguer started working in glass in 2003 and was gifted in design from the start and in his first year of glass won two awards for his work. He studied with and worked for many glass artists, many of which were Venetian Masters. He even spent about a year working at the Zanetti Studio in Murano/Venice, Italy. He uses many techniques that he has picked up along the way in his creations; from coldworking, solid sculpting, to blow work.
