1st Down Sports, Inc. was founded in Virginia Beach, Virginia in July of 2005 at an indoor flea market (Bill's Flea Market/FX Building) on Virginia Beach Blvd. After a year and a half, we made a big jump and opened at our first mall store at Military Circle Mall in January 2007. Shortly after that, we expanded to the internet to have an online presence with 1stDownShop.com (the online division of 1st Down Sports, Inc.). After grinding through the struggles of running a small business, we persevered and decided to open up a second mall store at Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach in April of 2009. After a few years of success there, we then expanded to open our third and largest location at MacArthur Center Mall in Norfolk, VA in 2012 and then Pembroke Mall in 2015.
